Fri-YAY Favorites!

Fri-YAY!!!  Welcome to the week-end!  I know everyone loves Fridays but now they are even more fun since I'm linking up with others for Friday Favorites and Five on Friday!  I can't wait to see what you guys have on your lists this week!  So...without further adieu, here are my random Friday Favorites!

* my hubby!!! - Today is my sweet hubby's 44th birthday.  I have had a blast this week celebrating him!  I decided that anyone could have a day of celebration but a week of celebrations would be way more fun.  I've done little things each day to celebrate his birthday week.  He's not into cheese-y gifts but I'm pretty sure he started looking forward to what was coming next!  We've got a super fun surprise for him when he comes home from work today!  Check out the serving starts at home - encore addition post to see more!
this summer we survived a 2 week, 4,800+ mile cross country road trip with the three kiddos - we must be in love (or crazy!)
my favorite is when Hope asks us to kiss "side to side" :)
* Darby Girl by Darby Smart - If you have a young girl in your life that loves making crafts, this is PERFECT for her!  It's a bi-monthly mystery craft box filled with everything you need to make an amazing DIY project.  So far, Holden has made rhinestone headbands, a tie-dye project, a painted bag, and this month was a super cute fairy door necklace.  And, the timing of this month's box was perfect - we received it right before Carly was coming over.  You can read more about Darby Girl by Darby Smart here.
everything - including the three green handled "plier" type tools were included in the box!

* a new bag!!! - I'm such a sucker for a new bag so I couldn't resist grabbing this one when Pinterest Told Me To (she mentions the bag toward the end of her post)!  I'm not big into fashion but show me a nice bag and I seriously swoon!  This should show up on my doorstop any day and I.can't.wait!!!
Sole Society Mason weekender bag
* Colby's lockers - This is only my third Friday Favorites post but in the past two (here and here), I've shown you something I love about each of the girls' rooms.  Thought I would continue this week by showing you something out of Colby's room and maybe I'll continue the trend each week with choosing something from our house that I love.

Back to Colby's lockers... when Colby was a little boy, I would look aimlessly at the Pottery Barn Kids catalog and dream of the perfect little boy room.   His room would be all-boy and definitely would include lockers.
this isn't exactly what I remember from PBK but you get the idea
Sweet hubby took one look at the price tag and it was a deal breaker (I can't remember exactly what it cost but more than $500, less than $1000 - looking back, I must have been sleep deprived cause that's A LOT of money for lockers!).  Then our neighbor mentioned that one of the local ISD's was having a surplus sale and there might be lockers there. Much to my delight - there were!  We bought a bank of lockers - 6 on top and 6 on bottom for a whopping $20!  We split them with our neighbors and the rest is history!  I truly wish I had the foresight to have taken a before picture, but I didn't.  :(  Let's just say, imagine the lockers in your middle school that had been there for years.  To say these lockers were in bad shape is a gross understatement.  I mentioned they were only $20, right?!  Many, many hours were spent getting these lockers back in working condition, dents removed, and completely re-painted.  We've had these lockers for over 10 years and I think they are perfect!
Sorry for the poor quality of my pics lately!  My good camera took a swim in a bag of spilled Gatorade and hasn't been the same since! :/

 * Pumpkin Patches - My kids were beyond excited to go take pictures at the pumpkin patch pick out their pumpkins this week!  This isn't a fancy pumpkin patch, it's just a corner lot with some pumpkins on palettes but it's where we go almost every year to get our pumpkins (we are Aggies - if we do something more than once - it's a tradition!).

monkey see, monkey do!
full of sass!
this was on par for the day - I couldn't get all three to look - but, I'll take the sweet way Hope has her hand on Colby any day!
It's a Halloween miracle!  I NEVER can get a pic of these two in the same proximity without Hope (AND they actually are smiling!)!
Hope was busy picking out the perfect pumpkin!
I tried to get them to pick this one - it looks like it already has a face!
pumpkins for everyone!

I hope you have a great Fri-YAY and an even better weekend!  Thanks for stopping by!

Gig 'em and God bless!
