Friday Favorites - randomness at its finest!

I've been thinking all week about a few of my favorite things.  These might appear to be all over the place - and they are - much like the thoughts that rattle through my head at all times!

* TBarM camps - Our oldest, Colby, just completed his 6th year attending TBarM sports camp and our middle daughter, Holden, just wrapped up her third year.  We LOVE this camp!  Yes, yes, I know that next summer seems like forever away but it's never too soon to start looking for a camp home.  While I know that there are many, many good summer camps out there, I can vouch for this one.  If you are looking for a summer camp for your kiddos, look into this one!  One of their catch phrases is FUAGNEM - which stands for Fired Up And Going Nuts Every Minute.  They use every minute they have with our kids to show God's love in an over the top fun way!  Not only has this camp given my kiddos an awesome Christian foundation, it also has been a source of encouragement for me.  Talking about my faith and serving others has been made so much easier because of the things I have learned from TBarM.  Check out this video to see more!

* Holden's art gallery room - To say our middlest loves art would be a drastic understatement!  She is in a constant state of creation.  While she will occasionally create a masterpiece for someone else, most of the canvases come home.  We were quickly running out of wall space so I asked her what she thought we should do with all this art.  Her quick response was, "why don't we just hang them from the ceiling?".  What?!  My Type A personality just couldn't wrap my brain around hanging art from the ceiling (all I could see was art literally hanging from the ceiling!).  Later when the hubby came home, I had Holden to tell Dad her grand idea.  So she did and he thought it was a great idea!  Are you serious?!  This is the man who will get out the level just to hang the tiniest thing!  So off they went to "hang" all this art from the ceiling.  A little bit later they came downstairs and wanted to show me what they had come up with.  Ta Da!

This is her view as she lays in bed - pretty cool!

Can you believe it?  The art wasn't dangling from the ceiling - it was Velcro-ed to it!  How genius is that?!  I guess you could say it's her version of the Sistine Chapel.  Every two or three weeks, another masterpiece is added.  It truly is one of my favorite areas in our home!  I love walking upstairs at night to see her laying in bed looking up at her art.  You can visually see the joy it brings her!

* be awesome today! - We recently spruced up our laundry room and this sign from Barn Owl Primitives was perfect!  The door leads to our garage so this is the door we are in and out at least ten million times a day.  It's the perfect reminder before we head out the door.
In my head I had grand visions of this as we walked out the door:
It hasn't happened...yet!  :)

* jokin' in the john ghost - Oh my goodness!  This is THE funniest thing I've seen in quiet a while!  I was walking down an aisle in Wal-Mart (I love Wal-Mart - no judgments!) and this little ghost started spouting out potty humor.  Normally when my kids talk like this, it annoys me like nothing else but when this little ghost was saying it - I couldn't help but crack up and knew my kids would LOVE it!

Check out this video to be thoroughly cracked up!  I seriously get the giggles every time I walk into our bathroom.  Yes, I put it in the master bathroom cause even though we have other toilets in the house, the majority of our peeps would rather go in our bathroom!

* night games at Kyle Field! - It's no secret that I LOVE being an Aggie and feel blessed to call College Station home.  Others may love Fall for the cooler temps and changing colors of the leaves but I love fall for one reason - COLLEGE FOOTBALL!  And, there's no place I would rather be on a Saturday night than Kyle Field!  Our Aggies will face Ole Miss tomorrow night and I can't wait!
this pic was taken in 2012 - I think it's safe to say we need to update this tomorrow night!
There's no place like Kyle Field - especially for a night game!

So there you have it - some of my random favorite things!  Would love to hear about some of your favorites!

Gig 'em and God bless!

    1. Hi, Sandra! Can you believe it?! Who would have thought to Velcro them to the ceiling - not me! But, it works and she loves it - one of these days her whole ceiling will be covered! Hope you have a great weekend!

I'm a huge Notre Dame fan so I definitely think you should hit your sign every time you pass through the door ;) Have fun at the game with your family! We took our kids to their first Notre Dame game this year and it was such a blast. Good luck to your team! -Jess

    1. Which camp did your son attend? There are so many great ones and I love hearing where everyone goes! Be sure and check your Hallmark store - I think the ghost is a few dollars cheaper there. Hope your kiddos love it as much as mine do! Have a great weekend!

    1. It's definitely a learning process! She has such great ideas but sometimes they seem VERY far fetched. I usually need her to explain them to me more than once! :)
