In This House, We Will Giggle

I normally won't post every day but I had to take this chance to tell you about something fun happening today!
Courtney DeFeo is one of my favorite people.  Granted, I've never met her but I feel like if I did, we would sit across from each other and talk for hours about how we feel God moving in our lives, the struggles and strengths of our families, and a million ideas that we have on how we can lift up others.  She's got a great big heart that wants to teach her kids to love God and love others.  Simple as that!  And, from the first time I stumbled upon her blog while browsing Pinterest, I knew I wanted to use her inspiration in my own life.

Today is a special day for her - her book In This House, We Will Giggle will be available in stores and online.  Yesterday she posted some of her What Ifs:

WHAT IF…

  • What if one mom decided to try church again because of something she encountered in this book?
  • What if one dad played the air guitar one night and realized he really did love being a dad?
  • What if one family started the Heritage of Faith journal and it got passed on for generations?
  • What if a group of moms implemented these ideas and changed the face of their community?
  • What if God saved some marriages?
  • What if a few kids or thousands didn’t run away from their faith in high school instead caught the bug of his goodness?
  • What if 100 moms realized they are more capable than they ever realized?
  • What if there were fewer lectures and more laughter in homes?
  • What if parents enjoyed more days of the journey?
  • What if we invited our kids into the game and left room for God to move in their lives?
  • What if we moms drop-kicked pressure and performance and expectations and let God guide the plan?
  • What if a few moms felt more empowered and prepared for the journey?
If only she knew that one of her What Ifs had already been answered.  The one about a group of moms implementing ideas to change the face of their community.  She was a big encouragement to me to jump on board with Project Serve.  I didn't want to just talk about our family wanting to serve our community - I wanted to get out there and do it!

I pre-ordered my book yesterday and can't wait for it to show up in my Kindle reading list!  If you are interested in her book, here's more info:

    1. I've only finished the first chapter on Joy and am already feeling convicted! A great reminder that the mood of our house starts with me! This is another book that I will read slowly and let it all sink in!
