As I was thinking about this characteristic, karma came to mind. You know when someone has done something really awful to you and then something happens to them and you think - uh huh, karma, baby! Well, that is not love. Like many of the other characteristics that we've seen so far, this one builds on yesterday. If you can love without keeping a record of wrongs, loving without delighting in evil should be easy. I think the best way to practice this type of love is encouragement. Love gets excited when it sees a friend succeed. Love pats someone on the back because you noticed the little things they were doing right. Love says to the tired mom in the grocery store, "you are a great mom!". Rejoice with the truth! Let's see what else Scripture tells us about encouraging others:
2 Corinthians 13:11
Can you tell I love the Philippians verse?! :) It was one of the kiddos verses from camp a few years ago and I have held on to it tightly since then! It's made more than one appearance in the past few days!
We are definitely in the home stretch with our love challenge! Tomorrow is love always protects! I think we can agree that the next few days will be easier than the past few! Thanks for coming on this journey with me! Hope to see you tomorrow!
