Friday, I mean, FRI-YAY Favorites!

Whoo hoo!  One more week of school and then it's Spring Break!  Once Spring Break is over, it seems like the remainder of the school year flies by!  I'm SO over this cold weather and am looking forward to some warm (ok, ok HOT - we do live in Texas!) summer sun, sparkling blue swimming pool water, and lots and lots of FAVORITE summer activities!

But, in the meantime, here's some of my FAVORITE things from this past week!  Enjoy!

Girls Day Out
On Saturday the girls and I took advantage of our free weekend and headed to Houston. I had a few returns to make at Nordstrom's and the girls had some Valentine money burning a hole in their pockets that their grandparents had given them.
All loaded up and ready to hit the road!
My road trip buddies aren't big into conversation...we had been on the road about 30 minutes when I snapped this!
And it was a good thing they were sleeping because as soon as we got to Houston we ran in to this - UGH!  Traffic is definitely NOT a favorite!
As soon as my car stopped moving the girls woke up.  This is their "what do you think about traffic" faces!  No worries - my car was sitting completely still on the freeway when I took this picture!!!
Remember those magnets I found at the Dollar Spot in Target that I talked about here?  They are still a FAVORITE!  Hope was showing me how she sorted the letters by color.  It was a great distraction as we sat in traffic for an extra 45 minutes!
As we were driving to the Galleria, we passed the waterwall fountain.  When I realized how close it was to where we were parking, the girls and I headed down to take a closer look.
Just me and my FAVORITE girls having a Girls Day Out!
Getting rid of some energy after being in the car for the past 2+ hours!
After they got some energy out, it was time to hit the mall!  This was my FAVORITE picture of the day!!!
Can anyone see Hope?!
She stood like this the entire time I was making my returns!  Silly girl!
Hope's FAVORITE store was the Hello Kitty store!
She was so excited about her purchases (and I feel I should apologize to the girl behind her - she was in every picture I tried to take of Hope - oopsie!).
The girls LOVED spending their own money on their treasures!

As we were in the car on the way home, the girls were super chatty about our day.  I asked each of them what their FAVORITE part was and Hope said the "x-alators" (aka escalators) and Holden said "spending time with you guys and getting OUT of Houston!". Haha - definitely not a city girl!
Technically I could have listed this under our Girls Day Out but I really felt like it needed it's own section.  Seriously, do you really need to go anywhere other than Nordstrom's?  Why is Nordstroms a FAV?  Their return policy is second to none!  I returned a pair of boots that I had over a year (a button fell off) and they refunded me the entire original price - no questions asked.

We also enjoyed the Bistro.  I had never eaten there before but we were running late and needed to grab a quick bite before getting back on the road.  They had a fantastic (and uber reasonable!) kid's menu and the girl's LOVED it!
Holden gave the pasta a thumbs up!  And, yes, her new watch lights up!  ;)
It's hard to concentrate on eating when you have a crazy sister to watch!
Hope enjoyed chicken fingers - you can rarely go wrong with chicken fingers!
and who can forget the balloons?!  So many reasons Nordstrom's is my FAVORITE store!

And I have to share a funny story - I'm pretty sure we were the FAVORITE customers for the girls working in the Intimates Department!  I was exchanging my blardigan for a different color and I turned around to see Holden with a hanger around her neck showing off this...
And then she says in her quietest indoor voice, "Mom, you should TOTALLY get this for Dad!".  What?!!  The sweet girls at the counter kept their composure - until we got about to the escalators.  I'm sure they are still laughing about this!  Oh, and if you're interested, you can find the nightie here!  You know, for your husbands!

theme days
Dress up days at school are FAVORITES around here!  Hope dresses up more than the bigs ever did - I guess I learned how quick they grow up and how fast they no longer want to participate so I really encourage it.  Hope has been studying rain forests at Pretty School (she thinks "preschool" is called "pretty school" and it's just too cute to correct!) and today they were taking a Rainforest Walk so they were to come dressed in camo!
Here's a few of my other theme day FAVORITES from this past year:
I Love School Week!  theme: FAVORITE team day
I Love School Week!  theme: Disney
I Love School Week!  theme: crazy hair and socks
I Love School Week!  theme: wear red or pink
Daddy Daughter Dance  theme:  boots and tutus
Celebrating the 100th day of school dressed like a centenarian
PJ day
Ugly Sweater party (this is what happens when a 13 year old is too picky for all the ugly sweaters his mom found - you get a duct tape shirt and an "X-box" to take as a gift!)
Crazy Hair Day

Instagram photo challenges are a FAVORITE - I just wish I could complete one!!!  Andrea and Erika have put together another great one for the month of March.  Here it is if you want to join in!  You can follow me on Instagram to see if I can actually stick with it!  :)!
I'm not sure how I missed this since it was published in September of last year but What's Up Moms are my absolute FAVORITE videos to watch.  I seriously LOLed when I watched this!!! How many of us can relate?!  :)
