Just a few things to remember about the link-up:
*All topics are welcome - as long as they are created or written by you and are family friendly!  Old posts - new posts... it's up to you!  Please link to your specific post URL and not to your blog home page.
*You can link up to three posts/blog.
*Please place a link back to this link-up in either your post or on your party page so that others can link up too.
*It's a party, try to visit at least 2 other posts and show them some love!  This is the fun part!  Be inspired, inspire someone else - don't just link and run!  Leave comments, share and pin their posts - you know, show some love!
*Each week I'll choose a few posts to feature at the next link party.  I'll also pin the featured posts to the While I'm Waiting - Waiting on...Wednesday link-up party FEATURES Pinterest board.

While I'm Waiting...

What am I waiting on?  Over the course of this school year I've been trying to start a food pantry at our son's middle school.  Unfortunately, food insecurity is a silent problem in our area and it breaks my heart that some of the students at his school might be going hungry.  This past Monday I met with the principal and a few other key individuals and it looks like the food pantry might become a reality soon!  This definitely would be worth the wait!

Thoughts, prayers, and well wishes that this becomes a reality are truly appreciated.  It all comes down to money but I just know this is all going to work out!

Thanks for linking up!  Have a blessed day!  Gig 'em and God bless!
Holly

  1. That is so amazing thing you are doing with a food pantry! When I was in undergrad we started on our campus. It truly is something that is needed everywhere. Thank you!! Have a great week!

    1. Thank you, JulieAnn! I'm hoping that we can get it started before the semester is over but for sure by the next school year. There's a lot of things that need to happen that our out of our control but I truly feel like everything is just going to fall in place. Any advice from your food pantry start-up?

    2. I would just suggest getting the word out to the community about it. There were churches and other organizations that donated food to our food pantry to help get it started. It is a long process but will be well worth it! :)

    3. Thank you, JulieAnn! We will have to rely solely on donations. Because we are a branch of our local food bank, food will need to be purchased through them. Eventually we hope to be able to accept non-food related items - travel size shampoos, conditioners, soap, toothbrushes/toothpaste, feminine products, etc. Thank you for your encouragement!

    1. Thank you, Sara!!! It looks like we are well on our way! We've collected enough money to get our first two months of food purchased - exciting news is that if we get up and running before the end of school, the kiddos that we help at the middle school will be available to get food from the high school over the summer!!! Absolutely - if there's a will, there's a way! Thanks for praying for us!
