Friday Favorites - spring theme: fun and hectic!

I feel like I need to stop for a moment and catch my breath!  I've been saying that the past few weeks were flying by but this past week was c-r-a-z-y fast!  It was so fast that I didn't even have a chance to pull pictures from my big girl camera so today's Friday FAVORITES come straight from the camera roll on my phone!  It's been a fun and hectic week but that seems like the theme of Spring!  As I look at our calendar for the remainder of the school year, I don't see it getting any better.  So, I need to buckle up - we are in for a fun ride!  No complaints though - that only means summer will be here before we know it!
This past week was full of transitions, Easter egg hunts, Easter goodies, a quick road trip, and lots of "happies".  Here's this week's Friday FAVORITES!
moving up to a "big girl" car seat
Last Friday, Hope's "big girl" car seat arrived and she was beyond excited (and I was brought to tears!).  She would definitely say that her new car seat is her FAVORITE!
She has been riding in the middle of the second seat since she was born.  She is fascinated by all the things that she can see from her new vantage point!  She loves riding with the windows down and I love watching her soak it all in!  It's the little things!

George Bush Library Easter Egg Hunt Scramble
The George Bush Presidential Library Easter Egg Hunt is definitely a FAVORITE!  They put together such a fantastic event for our community and we always have a good time.  We laugh because it's really not an Easter Egg "Hunt" - it's more of a 30 second scramble!  Seriously, the eggs are placed in 3 large, marked off squares and kiddos are divided up by age.  They say GO and it's like someone stepped in ants!  Hope doesn't really like to compete so big sister grabbed a couple of eggs for her and then we went to play a few games.
Each year the kiddos are given wooden eggs to commemorate the event.  The event and the wooden eggs are modeled after the White House Easter Egg Roll.
My FAVORITE is that they will still wear matching outfits!  This adorable combo is from
Lolly Wolly Doodle - another FAVORITE!!!
they loved the games and their balloon bracelets
but their FAVORITE part were the hula hoops!!!

Holden is crazy good at hula hooping!

These pictures make me laugh!  Hope really can't hula hoop - I just happened to capture her at just the right moment where it looks like she can!

baseball + besties
On Sunday, Shelly and I made a quick road trip to Fort Worth to watch TCU play.  Unfortunately, Riley didn't come in to pitch but we did watch the Frogs get a win!  Baseball, perfect weather, girl talk and a win - lots of FAVORITES!

"happies"
Putting together little "happies" is a FAVORITE past time of mine.  This week my bigs were taking the Writing section of the STAAR test on Monday and Tuesday so I put together a couple of things to wish them good luck.
These prayer bracelets are a FAVORITE - you can read more about them here.
This little "happy" was waiting for them on Monday morning.  There's just something about writing with new pencils that makes test taking a little easier! :)

Tuesday they woke up to Smarties!  This was Holden's FAVORITE!

My trainer sits for her Masters degree boards on Monday.  I put together a little Good Luck gift for her too!  :)
If you are looking for more ways to wish kiddos Good Luck, you can check out my
Top 10 list here.
And, then, on Wednesday, I was blessed with a "happy" myself!
My sweet friend, Ginny, mailed me some Easter goodies!  Isn't the monogram bag fabulous?!  It makes me smile every time I look at it!  Thoughtful friends are definitely a FAVORITE!

quick & super easy Easter goodies

I have a strict policy that I only give gifts that I would love.  And, I LOVE Reese's Eggs!!!  What else do I love?  Pulling together a little "happy" for teachers and our FAVORITE crossing guard for less than $10!

I hope your Easter weekend is filled with your FAVORITE things!
Have a blessed Easter weekend!  Gig 'em and God bless!

I think it would be great to get feedback from teachers. I know I want to give gifts that they love! :) Hope you got some Easter goodies - we think teachers are EGG-stra special! Thank you for all you do! Hoping you have a great Easter! Thank you for stopping by!

  4. Love me some Reese's Easter Eggs too! That's the candy we picked to hand out at the Nursing Home today!
We also just bought booster seats for Hunter! I figured I needed to do it before he starts Kindergarten! I'm the crazy mom That would keep him in a car seat longer if he wasn't about to reach the height limitations :) What brand did you get? We've always had Britax car seats and loved them so we stuck with them for the convertible booster seats...but wow, it was a small fortune to buy two of them!!!
Love the girls matching outfits too :)

    1. #soulsisters! Reese's Easter Eggs are straight from heaven! :) I know the nursing home residents were super happy with your choice!!! I'm laughing about your comment about moving Hunter to a booster before Kindergarten - that was my exact statement! This booster is a Graco. Mike got it for his truck so that we could decide if we want to get another just like it (he was concerned it wasn't girly enough for Hope's liking!) or wait and find another one. We've always had Britax car seats - just not the boosters. Hope you guys have a wonderful Easter!!! Let's catch up soon!
