Friday Favorites - has anyone seen my brain?!

While I'm Waiting...Summer 2015 - the summer I lost my brain

Remember last week when I said that summer was kicking my tail?!  Apparently I like consistency because the score is now summer-2, Holly-0!  I seriously think I'm losing my mind!!!  This week I missed (another!) training session and also forgot to pick-up kids one day for carpool!!!  No, I was not running late - I COMPLETELY forgot!  But, hey, there's always next week, right?!  If things keep going like this the only way to go is up!  :)  Good news is we are having a laid back summer (probably because I have no idea where we are suppose to be or what we are suppose to be doing!) and no one is complaining (except for my trainer and the kids I forgot to pick up!).  Kidding aside - here are my FAVORITE things from this past week!
Baseball
I told you guys last week during my link-up that I was waiting on the baseball Super Regional series between the Aggies and the Horned Frogs.  Well, it sure didn't disappoint. TCU took the first game, 13-4 and the Aggies came back and won game two in 10 innings, 2-1.  UGH!  Just what I was afraid of!  What do you do when you are a die-hard Aggie fan and your best friend's son plays for the Horned Frogs?  I took the easy way out - I wore neutral colors and cheered for no one (well, except for Riley when he came in to pitch!).  We were still watching baseball around 1am when TCU punched their ticket to the College World Series.  I'm so excited for Riley and the Horned Frogs.  Sad that my Aggies didn't make it - I was campaigning for co-champions of the super regional so they both could go to Omaha!

Hearts divided but united by friendship.

We started out in the stands but it was H-O-T so Hope and I went downstairs where it was shaded and a bit cooler!
While I'm Waiting...Friday Favorites
When the Aggies score a run, their fans blow bubbles.  This particular day there weren't that many reasons to blow bubbles.
While I'm Waiting...Friday Favorites
The kids with Riley after Game 1.  It's been so fun for our kids to be able and watch someone's dreams come true!  I just love this kid!  I teared up each time he ran on the field.  He's definitely my FAVORITE college baseball player (I had to add college because his younger brother plays baseball and I tell him he's my FAVORITE too!).
While I'm Waiting...Friday Favorites
This whole series we were so confused - no clue who to root for!

I posted this pic on Instagram after midnight the night of Game 3 - the game lasted right at six hours!!!  Thankful my hubby got us home safely - we finally drove in our driveway at 4:30am!!!
Sweet friends
After game 1, Carly's aunt, Amy, asked the girls if they wanted to go with her.  Well, of course they did!  She promised room service and how could we compete with that?!

In addition to room service, they also watched Paddington, went on a carriage ride, did a little window shopping, and had a dance party on the escalators.  You can imagine how happy they were to see us when we went to pick them up - yea, not so much!

Thank you, Amy!  You are definitely their FAVORITE!!!
My parents
After game two, we met my parents in Canton so that Hope could go home with them. She takes two weeks of swim lessons while she's at their house each summer.  My kids love spending time at "The Hill".

Getting Hope home next week will definitely be my FAVORITE!!!  I'm missing her terribly!!!
Food Bank
For the past six summers, we've joined other families to volunteer at our local Food Bank. It's my FAVORITE way to give back!

This group of moms and kiddos packaged up over 4,500 pounds of food into 108 family boxes!
Best Friend Day
While I'm Waiting...Friday Favorites
Shelly and I were so excited that we got to spend National Best Friend Day together on Monday!  Friends are the family we choose and I'm so glad to have her in my family! Definitely couldn't live without her friendship, encouragement, and support!

And, not only are we BFF's but so are our kiddos!  These kids love each other so much and I am so glad they have each other!  Shelly and I met when we were pregnant with the boys - hard to believe that was 14 years ago!!!

Don't forget about our Summer of Service challenge!  You can read more here and here. This week was about serving our furry friends and I was so glad that the bigs worked together to make a few dog collars to donate to our animal shelter.

Loved seeing them work together on a project with (minimal) arguing!
