Friday Favorites - arm candy

I'm a creature of habit.  I wear the same earrings, the same necklace, and the same three rings every.single.day.  Why?!  I'm not real sure - I'm weird that way!  But, the one thing I LOVE is bracelets.  It's the one piece of jewelry that I'll switch up depending on my outfit (and/or mood).  And, it just so happens that one of my FAVORITE bracelet, or should I say cuff, makers is about to open up her etsy store for SEVEN weeks!!!  Holla!  Girls, Becky, at Farm Girl Paints normally opens up for five to ten days at a time - she's giving you seven weeks!  This is HUGE!!!  Her shop opens on Monday, September 14th at 8am EST and will close on Monday, November 2nd at 5:00 pm EST.  Here's a few reasons they are my FAVORITE!!!
While I'm Waiting...Farm Girl Paints cuffs - arm candy
First, each cuff made is unique.  You choose the cuff, the blank shape, and the wording. So far I have five cuffs and they are each so different and each are special in their own way.  Take for instance the cuff above.  I love to tell each of my kiddos (and their friends too!) that they are my FAVORITE.  I'll tell my son he is my FAVORITE son (he's my only son!), or I'll tell my daughter she's my FAVORITE ten year old.  I always give a little wink too like it's our little secret.  Cuffs are like that - the sayings you choose are your way of wearing your FAVORITE saying, manta, verse, or phrase on your wrist.

This cuff is fun - cause some days you're "MOM" and some days you need a little reminder that you are "WOW"! :)  It's all about perspective!
Second, cuffs make great gifts!  This will be Becky's only opening this fall so start thinking about Christmas gifts!!!  Believe me, these make awesome gifts!  I've given them to friends, family members and teachers and every.single.person has loved them!  It's a truly personal, personalized gift from the heart!

Third, Becky has made things even easier this opening by making pre-stamped blanks. Can't decide what you want on a cuff?  No worries - just choose from her selection below:

Another reason I love Farm Girl Paints is because each opening Becky gives back a percentage of her sale to a charity of her choice.  This time she has chosen Raise for Rowyn.  Here's why Becky chose them:

This is a letter I received recently from a sweet customer:

About one year ago I ordered a cuff with the name "Rowyn" on it. I asked for you to pray over the cuff. The name Rowyn belonged to a little 17 month old girl who was accidentally ran over in her driveway by her mother's best friend (9/16/14). Rowyn left the earth immediately. I asked that you would pray for the family to come to know the Lord in their hurt so that they may find healing. Well, almost one year to the day later the mother (Brynn Johnson) and her best friend (Cassie Miller, driver of the car) have come to know the Lord and for the first time in their lives they are proclaiming that they are now doing Kingdom work.

They started a non-profit organization called Raise for Rowyn (check out FB) where they raise money to help pay for funeral expenses for children who have died in accidental deaths. How gut wrenching it must be to do this every week but how amazing that they are doing it in GOD's name!

As of today (nearly one year later) they have financially helped 26 families bury their children (I am crying as I type). To think that one year ago a beautiful angel met her Creator, and in her mother's pain she came to know the Lord and is helping other mother's through the burial process. AMAZING! I had to share this with you. You prayed over that cuff that had the sweet name "Rowyn". Thank you!

Don't you just love when something tragic can turn into something beautiful and worthwhile!!  We are so very excited to be partnering with Raise for Rowyn this month, and 10% of every sale will be going to this beautiful cause to help raise money for those who have lost a child. And, finally - because I'm a FANGIRL and I LOVE Farm Girl Paints cuffs!  Becky posted a pic on Instagram yesterday looking for loyal customers who were interested in helping her spread the word about Farm Girl Paints.  Thank goodness Shelly was checking Instagram because she texted me and said "check insta and email farmgirlpaints!!!"  I contacted Becky and she quickly emailed me back.  And, guess what?!  She gave me a special promo code that you guys can use to get 15% off your order!!!  Just enter fangirlhollym at checkout to receive the discount!  How cool is that?!

I hope you love Farm Girl Paints and her cuffs as much as I do!  Be sure and let me know if you place an order - I always love hearing and seeing what other people choose!

And before I close, I couldn't let today pass without saying "I Remember".  Today marks fourteen years since our world was forever changed.  I was six months pregnant with Colby when the towers fell.  I remember feeling so helpless and wondering how we could bring a child into a world with so much hate.  But, since 9-11, and since the births of our children, I'm reminded that love always wins.  Even with the terrible, awful events of that fateful day, our country rallied and pulled together.  People were asking, "what can I do" and then making a difference - one person at a time.  Today, I hope you will join me as I join with Let's Do Some Good Today and honor those who risk their lives for ours on a daily basis.
I have purchased a gift card to a grocery store and the kids and I will drop it by our neighborhood fire station later today.  It's a small token to say, "thank you" and "we remember".

And, it doesn't have to be a fireman.  It could be shaking the hand of a highway patrol officer and thanking him or her for their service.  It could be secretly buying the dinner of a patrol officer.  You could cook breakfast and take it to your local fire station.  Your kids could make cards and drop them off at the police department.  Anything - just acknowledge and say "thank you" and "we remember".

  1. So funny you said that about the jewelry. I'm the same exact way. I wear a rotation of pieces and that's it. Shelly will get a kick out of this because she always tells me how we are so alike. Well, I'm okay with that. Will check these out because I have a friend at work who is all about arm accessories.

    1. Haha! Isn't that so funny! I'll even try to pull off a statement necklace and when I put it on I just feel silly! Then it's back to my basics! I LOVE the cuffs - probably because they all hold special meaning! You'll have to let me know if you or your friend gets one! I always love to see what people decide to have stamped on them! Have a super weekend!!!

    1. :) of course I do! And, it's probably my favorite cuff too! The kids love to try and catch me up and say, "but I thought you said I was your favorite" and I'll just look at them and wink like it's our little secret! :)

  3. I don't feel so weird anymore now! I wear my wedding ring, my anniversary band, my gorgeous (it truly is with diamonds and a mother of pearl face!) seiko gold watch that Tony gave me for my 50th birthday last year and I switch back and forth on a few necklaces and bracelets! I am not a fan of the statement necklaces either. I love them but can't seem to pull them off! Ok I am still thinking of ideas for Taylor's graduation cuff. For sure I am ordering the roman numeral wedding date one for Kelsey! I can not wait. I think I may even send my hubby an idea or two for our anniversary in November! and maybe he can surprise me! YAY!

I am trying to come up with something original for Taylor's graduation one but I keep going back to a couple I have seen on her etsy sight. Sometimes I over think things! I will definitely tag you with the final picks!

    1. Me too! I actually think I have an addition! :) I already have 5 and just ordered a new one - AND four more for gifts! I wouldn't be surprised if I added a couple more before she closes! Seven weeks is a long time for me to think about what I would like! It was much easier on my checkbook when she was only open a couple of days! ;)
