waiting on...Wednesday {link-up #34}

While I'm Waiting...Waiting on...Wednesday link up
Welcome back to the Waiting on...Wednesday link-up - a place where you can link up what you are waiting on, going through, making, anything - as long as it's family-friendly!  :)  After you link up, please make sure to read a few others - and don't forget to tell them you found them at Waiting on...Wednesday!

I had a running list of posts that I wanted to feature this week but one in particular really resonated with me.  Obviously, waiting is a theme in my life so when Miranda at Child of the One True King used this verse in her post, well, it was just what my soul needed.  If you find yourself in a season of waiting, stop by and check out her post!  You'll be glad you did!

You can find all the previous features pinned to the link-up party FEATURES board on Pinterest!  Follow along and you'll get a sneak peak of who the features are each week! :)
Follow Holly @ While I'm Waiting...'s board While I'm Waiting - Waiting on...Wednesday link-up party FEATURES! on Pinterest.

Just a few things to remember:
*All topics are welcome - as long as they are created or written by you and are family friendly!  Old posts - new posts... it's up to you!  Please link to your specific post URL and not to your blog home page.
*You can link up to two posts/blog.
*Please place a link back to this link-up in either your post or on your party page so that others can link up too.
*It's a party, try to visit at least 2 other posts and show them some love!  This is the fun part!  Be inspired, inspire someone else - don't just link and run!  Leave comments (and tell them you found them on Waiting on...Wednesday!), share and pin their posts - you know, show some love!
*Each week I'll choose a few posts to feature at the next link party.  I'll also pin the featured posts to the While I'm Waiting - Waiting on...Wednesday link-up party FEATURES Pinterest board.
*If you would like to follow me, that would be awesome but it's not required.

What am I waiting on?  My oldest, Colby, isn't mentioned much on here or on Instagram (my favorite social media!).  Why?  Well, because according to my dear, sweet teenager, moms can some times be embarrassing. #whatever I try to respect his wishes and clear anything I post but this time I'm just going to put it out there without him knowing... #uhoh For the past year, Colby has been taking Country & Western dance lessons.  This past summer, he and his partner, Audrey, tried out for Lil' Wranglers and made the team!  He was so excited and couldn't wait to start performing!  For the past three months they have been rehearsing for their big reveal and that happens to be this weekend.  It's an event called Barn Dance and it's the first time that I will have seen him dance!  I can't wait!!!

You can watch this highlight video to see snippets from last year's performances!

I snapped these pictures at their recent picture day - aren't they cute?

Saturday also happens to be my sweet hubby's birthday.  He's super excited to be spending his day at Barn Dance - the same time as the Aggies are playing football. #oops But, I've got a sitter lined up for Sunday afternoon so hopefully I can make it up to him! Any gift ideas out there for the man who buys himself everything he wants?!

Thanks for stopping by and linking up!  Have a blessed day!  Gig 'em and God bless!

  1. He is adorable! I remember the embarassing teenage days with the girls. A good thing I wasn't blogging then. As far as a gift for the hubs, I'm always in the same boat. Most of the time when I'm stumped for a gift, I write him a love letter and make him his all-time favorites in the food department.

    1. Thank you, Michelle! There are times I want to strangle him and other times I can't get enough of him! :) I love watching him do things he loves! It's liking watching joy in action.

Thanks for the suggestions! I'm hoping to go on a picnic Sunday afternoon - just some time for us to reconnect. We've been going five different directions lately and it's time we just had a few hours to talk with no distractions!

  3. Hey Holly,

Love the pictures today! Your son it starting to look like a teenager! He's getting tall, isn't he! My son is 6'4" tall and very sweet!

Thanks for hosting the weekly link up.

Hope you and your family are doing well~

    1. He is - slowly! He's probably 5'8"+ right now. And, while he's already taller than I am, it's driving him crazy that he isn't growing faster! I keep telling him to be patient - he'll be over 6' - my dad is 6'6" and Mike's mom is 6' so I would be shocked if my prediction is wrong.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you guys are doing well too!

  4. How adorable! Happy birthday to your husband. My husband's is coming up and I was hoping to get some ideas here. I was thinking a helicopter ride or hot air balloon, perhaps few laps in a race car with a pro or some fun class we could do together - cooking, painting or even dancing. Thanks for hosting and have a lovely rest of the day!

  7. Colby is too cute! I think it is awesome that he even wants to dance. Many boys tend to shy away at his age. He is such a good looking young man and I know you are proud of him. Tell him I said good luck on his performance this weekend and happy birthday to your husband.

    1. Thank you, sweet friend! I originally just wanted him to take the class. Originally there was some grumbling but once he got there he realized it was fun (and that girls really like to dance with boys who can dance!). :) I appreciate you stopping by! Hope you'll link up again next week!
