Hey girl, it's Friday!

It's Friday!  We successfully made it through the first week of 2016!  I think we all deserve a round of applause!

The kiddos didn't go back to school till Tuesday so it's been a short week but I'm definitely still trying to get back into a routine!  Everyone popped out of bed on Tuesday but we all overslept on Wednesday.  Nothing says "Good Morning" like a panicked teen who is late for 6:30 am basketball practice (thank goodness it wasn't my carpool day!)!  ;)  Happy to report we were all back on track yesterday!

After a little holiday blogging break, I'm back and I've really enjoyed putting together a few posts this week.

Here's a couple in case you missed them.
While I'm Waiting...my one little word for 2016

While I'm Waiting...Currently

And now for my Friday FAVORITES - and {like always} they are all over the place today. #youvebeenwarned  There is absolutely no rhyme or reason but, well, here goes!

Remember when I got this fabulous little fringed purse from Nordstrom's?
It was the perfect little bag but I literally wore it out.  So much so that the inside lining had holes in it!  It was definitely time to replace!   My original purse is no longer available but this one should be delivered any day now!

Subscription boxes - do you enjoy them?  I'm such a sucker for a glorified "grab bag"!  One of my FAVORITES is Sevenly's CauseBox.  For less than $50 each quarter, you receive a box filled with over $150 worth of socially conscious products.  And, they give you a list of charities and you get to choose where your $7 donation goes to.  I love everything about this!  I appreciate artisans who can make beautiful things with their hands and I love supporting businesses that appreciate these things too.
These are the items from the winter box!  Definitely one of my FAVORITES!

Here's more about Sevenly...
Sevenly was founded in 2011 by four people who shared the mission of leading a generation toward generosity. Based on a core belief that “People Matter,” they began a journey to do their part in helping to change the world for the better. Activating the “cause art” movement worldwide, Sevenly began by creating 7-day cause campaigns, inviting customers to purchase products that gave $7 to a weekly charity. Now widely recognized as one of the nation’s leading “social good” companies, mashable.com just named Sevenly “America’s most social small business” and “one of the Top 10 Stories in the First 10 Years of Facebook.”

To sign up for Sevenly's CauseBox, you can click here.

AND...I just got an email this week about a new product they will be offering - the accessory give bag!
The best part?  100% of sales goes directly to support survivors of human trafficking and those at risk.

*really random alert!* I share my birthday with New Year's Eve.  A couple of year's ago, for my 40th birthday, my hubby surprised me with a girls trip to NYC.  Shelly and I had talked about how fun it would be to celebrate my 40th in Times Square but never, ever did I think it would actually happen!  Well, it did and it was fabulous!

we couldn't believe that we actually got to see the ball drop!

See all that confetti in the air?  Here's an awesome story about how they make it!  Love it!
My friend, Katy, is leaving for NYC today and I told her she HAD to stop by the Visitor Center and add her hopes and dreams!

And, this isn't random but an apology... I participated in a Christmas Cheer Box Swap in December and failed to post about it. #bloggerfail  Huge thank yous to Katie from The Mishaps & Mayhem of a Solitary Life!  She sent me the sweetest box of Christmas Cheer!

Thank you so much, Katie!  You absolutely put a smile on my face!

Big apologizes to Vanessa and Katie for not posting sooner!  The Christmas Cheer Box Swap was so much fun!  Thanks for hosting, Vanessa!

And, in case you are wondering, I put together a box of Christmas Cheer for Penny at Penny's Passion.  You can read all about it here.

And for my final Friday FAVORITE I'm sharing a little bit of heART!  Our middle daughter, Holden, takes art once a week after school.  She's been taking lessons for the last four years and has been blessed with an amazing art teacher that fuels a fire in her soul.  It takes her 3-4, sometimes five sessions to finish a masterpiece.  It's always a fun day when I get the big reveal!  This past Tuesday was one of those days.  She finished painting this peacock and I absolutely LOVE it!

  2. I read on Penny's blog what you sent her. I follow her daily and was tickled when I saw it was you and I knew you both. Great favorites this week and Holden, gifted. My creative outlet is I've come to find out is blogging. Other than that, what I create in the classroom with 5 year olds is my next outlet. Have a great weekend. Will check in with you on Sunday.

    1. I had so much fun putting Penny's little gift together! And, thank you for your sweet compliment of Holden. It's crazy - she has no idea how good she is. I would be shouting it from the rooftops but when she's done she's like, "I finished another one" and that's about it! I love her heart and spirit! And, I never really thought about it but blogging is definitely a creative outlet! And, your kiddos are blessed with such an amazing teacher! I know your joy comes out in everything you do with them! Praying for you! We'll chat on Sunday! Off to tackle my closet! :)

And, that's my third subscription box from Sevenly and I have loved all three of them! It's not much but I just checked my email and their was a $5 off code in case you want it - HAPPYNEWYEAR. 4. I love that subscription box! It's a great and inexpensive way to stock up on gifts we would purchase throughout the year and then you could add a note to the recipient about the artisan behind it! I may just sign up! Happy Friday and we are DEFINITELY writing our hopes and dreams! Thanks for the tip!

    1. Isn't it great? I stumbled upon it last year. It's my third subscription box and I've loved all three. It's not much but there's a $5 off code that was just emailed to me - HAPPYNEWYEAR. Sadly it ends tonight but wanted to share just in case. And, your idea about re-gifting is spot on! I've loved each and everything that I've received so far but sometimes it's not my style but I have someone in mind who I think would love it! I'm so excited for you guys!!! Have the absolute best time!
