Random Ramblings

I have so many things I want to share with you today and absolutely no connection from one to another!  But, I kind of like random so here goes!

The Evy from LandMine Design

Remember when I told you about my FAVORITE subscription box - the CauseBox by Sevenly?  My most recent box had a necklace included that is amazing!  Not only is it beautiful but the story behind it is really what touched me the most!

The MineFieldVillage , along the Cambodian border, is where 500 families call home.

Struggling to survive, these impoverished women had no option but to abandon their families, for months at a time, searching for work in neighboring Thailand.  Leaving their children alone and vulnerable, women would subject themselves to the horrific dangers of human trafficking in hopes of finding work.

Witnessing this cycle broke our hearts, and watching it continue was simply not an option.

It is here, LandMine Design was born - turning paper into purpose.

Every bead is made by hand from paper, every design is handmade in the minefield.

Through your purchase, you have become a part of this story.  Your purchase enables the ladies in the LandMine Design program to stay with their families, provide for their needs, receive an education, and be empowered to dream beyond mere survival.

The Evy represents the lives changed in the middle of a mine field in Cambodia, and what can be accomplished together, little by little.

The Yellow Bead - A rich color known as Gamboge.  Gamboge is desired around the world, yet only found along the border of Thailand and Cambodia.  It is a color that takes years to harvest, and is only obtained under the harshest conditions.

The bead is a testament to the severity of the women's living conditions.  A symbol of hardship and beauty.  A symbol of what was and what can be.

For these reasons, Gamboge marks our every clasp - on this piece and, all to come within LaneMine Design.

Som Kim made my necklace.  You can read her story here.
And, if you would like to order something, use code EVYFORSEVENLY to receive 25% off your online purchase!  (Purchasing with a purpose and promo codes are also my FAVORITES!)

One of my FAVORITE blog posts to read was Dear Moms, Jesus Wants You to Chill Out.  My favorite part was the Job Description for moms!  Check it out for some encouragement today!

The award for Best Customer Service goes to Chatbooks!  Before Christmas, I ordered my very first Chatbook and LOVED it!  I recently purchased two more.  But...when I received them, the quality wasn't the same as the first.  I sent an email and Chatbooks quickly followed it up, apologized, reprinted my books, and all is well!  Even though there was a goof with my books, I would still recommend them!  You can't beat amazing customer service!
And, because promo codes are my FAV, here's one for you to try!

    1. Isn't that the cutest idea? Love it! Isn't it too funny how it works out that we would be next to each other in the link-up! Maybe it's a sign that we should actually see each other in person! ;)

    1. Haha! Your encouragement has been the best! I've slacked a little the last few days (and when I saw slack I mean PTO meetings, laundry, running kids from here to there - you know, life!) but I'm ready to get re-focused this weekend! Think you'll get any snow this weekend? Stay safe!

  5. I think I need to grab that cat toy for my parents two cats. The cats already love a lazer pointer so this would be perfect.
