over the rainbow!

While I'm Waiting...over the rainbow!
I'm not sure where or when my obsession with rainbows started but I'm so drawn to them!  I guess you could say I'm slightly obsessed with ROY G BIV!  Yes, we just wrapped up Valentine's Day but I'm already thinking ahead to St. Patrick's Day and how I can incorporate more rainbows in my life!  Because rainbows are definitely my FAVORITE!

I don't have a green thumb but I think even I could pull this off! ;)  A few white daisies, glasses vases, food coloring, and water.   Add them all together and you've got a combo for a fabulous centerpiece!  I can't wait borrow this idea!!!

Anyone have any pallets laying around just looking for the perfect (and easy!) project? Feel free to drop this beauty off by my house!  You would be my FAVORITE person!  :)

I know the girls would love to see these cute rainbow heart and clouds hanging from their ceiling!  The link doesn't include instructions but it shouldn't be too hard to figure out. #wishfulthinking

Speaking of wishful thinking... how fabulous are these rainbow shutters?!  A girl can dream, right?!

A few years ago I started following Patcine at The Will to Choose.  She has the most heart breaking story of losing a child but that's not what drew me to her.  What draws me to her is the absolute hope she places in Jesus Christ and His plan for her life.  She blogs straight from her heart and I appreciate how raw she writes.  Through her loss, she has realized a calling - to help other parents going through the same pain.  She sells t-shirts to raise money for what she calls her Next Chapter.  She also recently joined up with Mallory and through a gift Mallory was given, Mallory is also giving back to others.  In her words:

We wanted to share this same gift to other families who have lost a loved one. A child, a brother, or a sister. Parents, or grandparents. Anyone who is feeling grief. So we are making these available for sale, and a portion of the proceeds are going to “The Will to Choose” Ministry to help other bereaved parents with the cost of losing a child.

You can request a garland for a bereaved parent or you can purchase one for yourself. Email Mallory at with any questions you might have.  I'm buying a rainbow one for myself and each time I look at it I will remember God's promise and also these incredibly strong families that are living every parent's nightmare.

God continued, “This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and everything living around you and everyone living after you. I’m putting my rainbow in the clouds, a sign of the covenant between me and the Earth. From now on, when I form a cloud over the Earth and the rainbow appears in the cloud, I’ll remember my covenant between me and you and everything living, that never again will floodwaters destroy all life. When the rainbow appears in the cloud, I’ll see it and remember the eternal covenant between God and everything living, every last living creature on Earth.”
Genesis 9:16The Message (MSG)

  1. I'm obsessed with rainbows, too! Pretty much everything in my life gets ordered around ROY GBV and both my daughter's birthday parties (and her baby showers) have had rainbow themes!

    1. I bet those parties were amazing! Anything rainbow gets kudos in my book! Let's rainbowtize all the things!!!

  2. I love all these bright, joyful rainbow ideas!!! I'm not obsessed with rainbows, but I do love them, and I really love bright color combinations together :) The rainbow vases remind me of our wedding-the reception centerpieces (which my husband thought up and designed) were wine glasses that had layers of colored water, corn syrup, and oil in our wedding colors (green and yellow)! It looked pretty cool!

    1. The reception centerpieces sound beautiful!!! I love that it was your hubby's idea!

  3. I can almost feel then tension in Mikes neck when I look at the Just kidding...if anyone could make that happen it would be your hubby! I can totally see those vases on your front window sill. And so ordering a garland!! Thanks for sharing that.

    1. Haha - I didn't even show him. He would have thought I was crazy!

I really want to do those vases!!! SO pretty and it looks so easy! We'll see!

I thought the garlands were fabulous! I emailed her before I even finished reading the post!

  4. This is a good wishlist. & the Rainbow blinds? They are perfect! Pinning to the Practical Mondays board :)

(PS- I love your watercolour-ed header!)

    1. I totally swooned over the rainbow blinds! Wouldn't they be such a statement piece in just the right room?!

Thanks so much for stopping by and for pinning! Really appreciate it!

Hope you have a great week!

  5. Oh my goodness those rainbow shutters are AWESOME!!! I think Rainbow Brite was where my love affair happened with rainbows. Boy did I just giveaway my age! :D
Thanks for sharing with us at #MMBH!

1.!!! I bet that's when my obsession with rainbows started! I never even thought about the connection! I LOVED Rainbow Brite!!!

  6. These are precious. And the shutters are amazing. This reminds me of when my daughter was 3 and at her first dance class, the teacher asked each girl to tell their favorite color. Her response was sparkly and rainbow. A girl after my own heart!!

I love when you leave comments! So...what are you waiting for?! :)
