while I waited...week 5

While I'm Waiting...while I waited week 2
Was it just me or was last week a l-o-n-g week?  I'm not sure what made it feel so long - it just seemed to drag by!  Looking forward to a week that flies by followed by a three day weekend - whoop!!!  But till then...here's what I did last week while I waited!

While I Waited...week 5
And though she be but little, she is fierce - yes, yes she is!
 While I Waited...week 5
So blessed to have sweet neighbors that love playing with our girls!!!
While I Waited...week 5
Back and forth from our house to theirs - screaming all the way!
While I Waited...week 5
Wrapped up Monday with my friend, Amy.  She began as Hope's teacher and loved me through all my tears and worries of sending my baby to school!  Now I'm blessed to call her friend!
While I Waited...week 5
Hope was just a tiny bit excited that dad was going to take her to school on Tuesday!
While I Waited...week 5
and I was just a tiny bit excited to get new carpet in my closet!
While I Waited...week 5
Want to know the way to Hope's heart?  Let her dress herself AND leave the house wearing her fashion creation! #danceday
While I Waited...week 5
Holden is almost finished with her cherry blossom masterpiece!
While I Waited...week 5
We ended Tuesday with a Court of Honor for Colby's scout troop.  If he stays focused, he will be an Eagle Scout by the time he turns 16. #thatstheplan #fingerscrossed
 While I Waited...week 5
Wednesday I had a couple of posing fur babies - Maggie soaking up the sun and Mini being Mini (and, yes, her eyes are that green!).
While I Waited...week 5
While I Waited...week 5
LOVED getting this pic from Hope's teacher!  Their Kindergarten class helped tape candy on over 400 valentines to send to troops!!!  Love, love, love that Hope is learning to serve at school too!
While I Waited...week 5
Thursdays are Show and Tell day for Hope and she couldn't wait to take Holden's Magic 8 Ball!  She says she wants to take a disco ball this week! #youneverknow
While I Waited...week 5
Thursday was another basketball game for Colby.  I love watching him play but my favorite part was...
While I Waited...week 5
watching Hope run on the court to get Dillon to pick her up!  It didn't matter to Hope that 1) Dillon plays for the opposing team, and 2) his team was in the middle of warm ups!
I love that Dillon scooped her up without giving it a second thought!  #itshardtobeHope #notreally
While I Waited...week 5
And the absolutele BEST part of my day - having a McJanac dinner!  We don't get to see each other near as much as we would like but it's always a fun time getting this crew together!
While I Waited...week 5
Friday evening was the 50 Men Who Can Cook fundraiser for the CSISD Education Foundation.  Numbers aren't in yet but we are thinking they raised close to $200,000!!!
While I Waited...week 5
Mike and his co-worker, Glen, cooked over 60 pounds of tri tip!  Sooo good and they even got second runner up in the entree category!
While I Waited...week 5
 So proud of my guy!
While I Waited...week 5
Saturday morning we were back watching the Lynx play roundball!  They got another win!  Whoop!
While I Waited...week 5
Dede and Pop Pop were in town to see Holden play!
While I Waited...week 5
For an early Valentine treat, Dede treated the kids to the Olate Dogs show later that afternoon!
While I Waited...week 5
 Front row seats!!!
While I Waited...week 5
We even got to meet the performers after the event!
While I Waited...week 5
Any guesses on what the girls' favorite part was?!
They showed this video in church today.  Powerful to see how God works in the lives of Superbowl athletes (and how He works in us too!)!
 While I Waited...week 5
After a day working around the house, we tuned in to the Puppy Bowl - only to realize that Maggie loved watching it too!  We've never really noticed her watching tv before but she was so interested in those puppies!  #TeamRuff
While I Waited...week 5
In case you are wondering, yes, I'm STILL working on my closet re-do!  But, it's definitely worth the wait!  Here's a little sneak peak!

That wraps up our week!  I'm so glad you stopped by!  Hope you have an extraordinary week!

Gig 'em and God bless!

  1. Closet wall, love it. So many things that are "you." I can't wait to see the final product. Little things like new carpet tickle me too. It all comes together with the little things. How is the organizing coming along in the other areas?

    1. Thanks, Michelle! I've had so many of these things just waiting for the perfect spot! I'm LOVING it!!! Now when the fam is looking for me, they can find me in my closet - just sitting there, soaking it all in!!! We are about 85% done - I can't wait to share!!! The difference is unbelievable! The organizing in other areas is coming - kinda like my closet - slowly! Finished up book and will tackle paper this week. Yikes! This will be a tough and time consuming one! Thanks for checking!

And, how are things going with you?

  2. I am almost thru the book and have already started on practicing my folding. I have realized that I probably won't get Tony to come to the dark side of this whole organizing even in our bedroom (for his stuff anyway) BUT he has conceded to let me fold his underwear and his workout clothes and his pajamas. So I will take that as a win! Cant wait to see your finished closet masterpiece!!

    1. Baby steps!!! Mike isn't as on board as I am but he's trying and that's all I really need! I'm geeked out excited to share the completed closet! It's about 85% done - SO close yet so far away!!! Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you have a fabulous week!

    1. Thanks, AnneMarie! The closet is coming together slowly but surely! ;) I know it will be worth it in the end! We thought it was adorable how Maggie stopped to watch the puppy bowl! Too cute! Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you have a super day!

  5. No wonder you felt like it was long...you packed a lot into it!!! Those pictures of Dill and Hope are just precious. Not sure he would have responded the same to his own sis! And your man..I seriously adore this pic of him in his "snapback'...in his element cooking. So proud of him for placing! He's such a catch friend! Loving the closet of course! Oh...and the dog show...So..Much..fun!! I seriously would have never even thought that before Dutch but I'm so jelly. Tell your mom she was rocking that leopard!! :)

    1. Haha - no kidding, right? Just when I think our week was boring, I look back and think, "um, not so much!" I thought Mike looked cute in his snapback! I was so disappointed in myself that I didn't take any pics (I had to email Heather to get the few pics I did post!). He definitely is a catch! I'm a lucky girl! And, the dog show was so much fun! The kids loved it! I'll pass on your compliment to Dede - she's celebrating her birthday in Reno! ;)

  8. Your closet looks amazing! So spacious too...mine is teeny tiny so things ar jammed in there. You have beautiful family! I remember when my daughters were little they loved dressing themselves and man....what outfits they could assemble! I often wanted to put a sign on their backs that said "I dressed myself today!"

    1. Thanks, Anne! It's a process but it's been SO worth it! Loved your "I dressed myself today!" - I absolutely agree! There are many days I want to let everyone know I had nothing to do with the way they are dressed! ;) Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have a great weekend!

  11. Good neighbors are truly a blessing. I can't believe Colby will have Eagle Scout status at 16...that's an accomplishment. And a man that can cook is always a winner. Great catching up with you.

    1. Good neighbors are definitely a blessing!!! We'll see if Colby ACTUALLY gets his Eagle Scout by 16 - he's on track but has been slacking lately! It's definitely way more work than I ever imagined! But, I think he will regret not getting it if he doesn't complete it. And, oh yes! A man that can cook?! Definitely a keeper! Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have a great weekend!
