comfort and hope - even on the darkest days

"I'm praying for you."  How many times have I said those words only to realize, I probably didn't pray at all or enough over the request?  This week was full of prayer requests.  So much sadness, heartache, and so many unanswered questions.  When a friend texted me early in the week asking for prayers, I made a point of looking up verses, specific to the situation that I could pray over.  Little did I know that just two days later, I would need those same verses in a different situation that hit close to home.

Bad things happen.  We can watch the nightly news or read about current events and we know that bad things happen.  It's just so hard to watch bad things happen to good people.  What are we to do when the only thing we want to do is ask why?  I found comfort in His word.  Maybe these verses will encourage or give you hope.  If not you then maybe someone you know that is going through a rough patch.

  1. I love many of these too Holly. It is difficult to know how God will answer our prayers on the behalf of others. I have learned it is in these times that we need to trust Him for the outcomes. Thank you for sharing these beautiful images with God's truth on them.

    1. It's so true, Michelle. We can't wrap our human minds around these things. I was reminded at church yesterday that we have to over look the unexplainable and rely on the undeniable.

  12. Thank you for those verses. I feel they apply to me right now. My mother passed away last week and it's been rough.
I make it a point to say a prayer, even if it's a short one, if someone has a prayer request.
