I couldn't stand it anymore. We just HAD to get her happy again! So, we loaded her up and took her to our local dog park. Since this was our first trip there, I had lots of lessons to learn!
Everyone needs someone in their corner whispering, "you've got this!" Maggie's person is definitely Holden. She loves this dog with every ounce of her being!
Sunday afternoons at the dog park - it was a family affair! ;)
And, here are the lessons I learned while watching Maggie shake off the funkiness:
Sometimes a change of scenery can change your attitude!
Within mere minutes, we could see the sparkle come back to her eyes.
She quickly found the pond and dove right in!
The dog park is much like a playground for kids - it's hard to share no matter if you have two legs or four!
Shortly after this picture, the stick broke. Unlike a playground, there were no tears.
Just two happy dogs - each with their own smaller stick.
Run like someone left the gate open!
Dogs live like we should. They don't care about size, shape, color, age, or breed. You show up, show some interest in joining the group, and you're good to go!
Enjoy the little things.
While I'm sure that Maggie had a fabulous time at the dog park, I'm confident the ride in the car was just as much fun for her! A great reminder to enjoy the journey - not just the destination!
A Sunday afternoon trip to the dog park taught me that everyone needs someone looking out for them. No matter our size, shape, color, or age - sometimes a change of scenery is just what we need to put a smile on our face! And, if all else fails, in the words of Taylor Swift...
"Baby, I'm just gonna shake, shake, shake, shake, shake
I shake it off, I shake it off"
Hoping today you're the dog...not the hydrant!
Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope you have a wonderful day and a weekend filled with all your FAVORITES!
Gig 'em and God bless!
Holly
and don't forget about the Waiting on...Wednesday link-up - a place where you can link up what you are waiting on, going through, making, anything - as long as it's family-friendly! :) it's open through tomorrow!
This post reminds of a book I read to my class called, What Pets Teach Us. Awesome post Holly, you captured the pictures with the slogans perfectly.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I was just in awe while we where there! I was probably the crazy camera lady! :) There were just too many cute photos that I wanted to capture!

Deletebeautiful pictures! Maggie reminds me of my family dog, Buttercup. We just had to put her down last month.

Maggie is a sweetheart. She's a rescue so we don't know her complete story. I always worry that we are freaking her out but she seems pretty content with us! Well, except when we won't let her go potty in the backyard! :)
DeleteLove this! (Also, a trip like this would be Emmy's worst nightmare! #wemaynevergetadog #butIkindofwantone)
ReplyDeleteIt might be a great immersion experience! They do have a separate small dog park that might be more her style!
DeleteDogs are so funny. I'm glad she had a great time, and love the lessons learned!
ReplyDeleteThanks! It really was a great first experience at the dog park! Looking forward to taking her back soon!
DeleteThis.is.awesome!! I love going to the puppy park and sometimes they teach us so much!!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Julie! I'm convinced our animals teach us WAY more than we teach them!
DeleteAw it looks like your pup had the best time at the dog park! I remember taking Dart to that dog park when we were in school and the little pond was awesome and he loved swimming in it!
ReplyDeleteI have absolutely nothing to compare it to but it seemed pretty great! So fun that you know exactly which park I'm referencing! Gig 'em!
DeleteSuch a cute post and such a cute pup!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Morgan!
DeleteAww...I love this! If y'all decide you need a drive on Saturday y'all can bring Maggie and head to Franklin and we can let the dogs play while we watch baseball. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm so bummed that I missed out on this! Except, I'm very glad that I missed out on the snake experience! #yikes
DeleteThis is so good. If only we humans would learn a few of these lessons. lol
ReplyDeleteSo very true!!!
DeleteI love it and it is all true.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Patrick!
DeleteThis is so funny! Dog parks are for sure a place of learning. It's so fun to watch dogs be carefree and socialize (hence, sniffing behinds, lol). Shamrock always jumps right in our car when he thinks we are taking him there. I love you pin..sometimes you're the dog....HILARIOUS
ReplyDeleteThanks, Valerie! It was like one big social experiment! Looking forward to taking her back soon! Hope you're having a super week! Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteThanks for sharing. We recently got a puppy and can't wait to take him to the dog park. Waiting for all his parvo shots since it seems to be so rampant where we live. Hope our first trip is as successful as yours. :)
ReplyDeleteYikes! Parvo is awful! So sorry it's so rampant there. Keep your puppy safe - plenty of time to enjoy the dog park real soon! You'll have to come back and share your experience with me!
DeleteWhat a happy dog! And what a great application!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Michele!
DeleteThis was such a fun post to read!
ReplyDeleteAh, thanks, Joanne! It was fun to put together! I'm so glad you stopped by! Hope you're having an extraordinary week!
