The Kids Behind the Blog - May edition

Our Pretty Little Girls
Today I'm joining Crystal from Hall Around TexasBeth from Our Pretty Little GirlsMeghan from The Adventure Starts HereJessica from Secrets of a SAHM, and Stephanie from Wife Mommy Me for their Kids Behind the Blog link-up, a monthly Q&A with the kids that made us mamas.  I absolutely LOVE these Q&A's with my kiddos!  Sometimes I get the answers I'm expecting, but not always!  It's fun for me to share #thekidsbehindtheblog!

While I'm Waiting...The Kids Behind the Blog - May edition
the kids behind While I'm Waiting... - Hope-age 5, Colby-age 14, and Holden-age 11

Here are the {very brief} answers my kiddos gave to this month's prompts!

1. What is something I always say to you?

"clean your room"

"I love you!"
While I'm Waiting...The Kids Behind the Blog - May edition
Last year while she was at camp, we had a little secret hand sign that meant "I love you."
While I'm Waiting...The Kids Behind the Blog - May edition
She only surprised me in one camp picture but seeing her secretly let me know she loves me meant the absolute world to me!

"I love you!" - I must be doing something right! ;)

2.  What makes Mom happy?

"clean room"

"beds made" - I see a trend here...

"when I hug and kiss you"

3.  How do I make you laugh?

"dancing/dabbing"

"random moments like right now"

"telling knock knock jokes"
While I'm Waiting...The Kids Behind the Blog - May edition

4.  What do you enjoy doing with me?

"talking in the car"
While I'm Waiting...The Kids Behind the Blog - May edition

"hanging out just talking"

"playing hide and go seek!"

5.  What is my favorite thing to do?

"spending time with friends and family/be alone" - He's SO right!  While I LOVE spending time with my family and friends, I also crave time alone!

"relax while getting your toes done" - I just might have to use the gift card they gave me for Mother's Day this weekend!

"watch me dance"
While I'm Waiting...The Kids Behind the Blog - May edition
Yes, sweet girl!  I absolutely LOVE watching you dance!

And, as I put this post together, it was a much-needed reminder that this mom job, messy and exhausting and frustrating and amazing and awesome as it might be, is so incredibly worth it.  He hand picked these three little people and has trusted them to me.  I pray I'm not screwing them up! :)  Happy belated Mother's Day, moms!  Let's celebrate every day as Mother's Day!

  9. What a sweet post Holly! I love these kinds of Mother's Day gifts, when I get to read cards with questions on them like this. My 5 year old was asked what was my favorite thing to do and she said clean the house, lol. I guess because I'm always cleaning.

    1. Haha! Isn't that funny?! When Hope was asked what I "love" to do, she said clean! We had to have a little talk - mommy cleans, but it's definitely NOT what I love to do! It's true - it's a never ending job!

    1. You are so sweet! They've been super cooperative with this each month! But, I do grab them individually when the other two aren't around so they aren't trying to one up the other one! ;) I would LOVE to see Riley's answers!!!
