Friday we wrapped up Red Ribbon week. Holden's theme was YOLO - what do you want to be when you grow up? She wants to be a Certified Dog Trainer (and live in a Tiny House in our backyard!) ;) while Hope is living like a STAR and dressed for the red carpet. We love theme days around here!
Friday morning Hope's entire Kindergarten team came together for a fun Halloween fall party! It was loads of fun! They made Spooky Hands...
did the Monster Mash...
tried to guess what was in the Mystery Boxes (brains, eyeballs, monster teeth, witch fingers, etc.!)
played candy corn bingo...
and built monsters out of play-doh!
Spending the morning with this Pumpkin Princess was the perfect start to the weekend!
Mike had a lunch meeting scheduled in town on Friday that was canceled at the last minute. That totally worked to my advantage! I love day dates!
It was a wild and crazy Friday night...I had to enlist Mike and his power tools to help me with Holden and Carly's Halloween costume assembly!
My parents came to town and all the kids wanted to spend the night with them (yippee!!!). Mike and I took full advantage and caught up on Designated Survivor and watched a couple of episodes of Friday Night Lights. #Texasforever
Saturday morning this girl was kickin' it on the foggy soccer field.
She scored THREE goals!
But her best score is having the most amazing big brother in the whole world! I snapped this at halftime as he was giving her a "pep talk"!
Our Aggies played the New Mexico State Aggies on Saturday evening. Here's my crew on our way to our favorite place - Kyle Field! The game was a tad bit boring but there's no place I would rather be on a Saturday night during football season!
Hope and Kynsley - we've been sitting by Kynsley's parents since before these two were born!
Last weekend Shelly and I went to a little market in town and I scored this cute t-shirt and vest. I couldn't wait to wear it to the game! The vest is light-weight and was perfect for temps still in the 70's.
On Sunday we grabbed lunch with Dede and Pop Pop before they headed home. (And, if you're keeping count, yes, we did go to Chuy's twice in three days!)
Then it was time for the girls to get dressed for a lock-in at their dance studio. Holden has become quite the make-up master and was helping with Hope's lipstick since I apparently did it wrong. ;)
Meet Snow White and the black crows! Holden and Carly have wanted to be crows since our trip to San Antonio back in August! Here's a little backstory...
Since the pool wasn't very crowded where we were, Shelly and I found chairs and let the girls go do all the water slides - as long as they stayed together and checked in with us occasionally. It wasn't long before we heard "ca-caw, ca-caw" (imagine the sound of a bird). It was so funny! We wouldn't necessarily be able to see them but we could always HEAR them! From that sound, a Halloween costume was born!
We stopped by the pumpkin patch on the way to the lock-in for a few quick pictures!
I think they are the cutest! And, it's always fun to have an excuse to wear their costumes a day early!
And, that's it! That's how we spent our weekend! Hope yours was a good one!
Happy Halloween!!! May your treat bag be filled with all your favorite candies!
Gig 'em and God bless!
Holly
Aw looks like so much fun! Kids on Halloween are the cutest. And soccer is too :) Happy Halloween!
ReplyDeleteHi, Alexis! I couldn't agree more - kids on Halloween are precious!!! Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you have a great weekend!
DeleteSuch cute costumes! Looks like a fun weekend.
ReplyDeleteThanks! It was a fun weekend indeed!
DeleteNice weekend. Going to sound stupid here but the Chuy's you mentioned, is that the one that John Madden always talks about and has the John Madden room in Van Horn?
ReplyDeleteThanks.
Not real sure about that. The Chuy's I mentioned is a chain Tex Mex restaurant that is, oh, so yummy! :)
DeleteI loved seeing Hope's party pics and snips on Snap Chat! And I'm still loving that picture of Holden putting on Enow White's lipstick!! What a fun weekend!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Laura! Snapchat is fun! But, I'm not very good at multi-tasking so it's usually pictures or snaps - but not both! :) Thanks for stopping by! Hope you have a super weekend!
DeleteThe girls are adorable. They look like you. The photo of the pep talk brings tears to my eyes. Okay, I typed that and now I'm in full-on cry mode. It's the way that my son took care of his little sister. One summer when they were ten and four, I was teaching Vacation Bible School. My kids were in their separate classes. When I took my class outside to play, one of my friends who was also teaching came up to me and said how sweet it was that when my son saw his little sister he greeted her so enthusiastically and picked her up to hug her. She said all the other kids who had younger siblings told them to get away and leave them alone. The relationship with her big brother was one of the most important in my daughter's life.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Thank you, Janie! They definitely have a special bond! One that brings tears to my eyes too!
Deleteoh my goodness the crow story and their costumes too cute! Great weekend!
ReplyDeleteAt first we thought they MUST be joking only to quickly realize they weren't! Thankfully it came together pretty easily!
DeleteLove the Tailgating and Touchdowns shirt. The kids look great in their costumes. My kids are older now; I miss taking them to Fall Festivals and Halloween parties.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Terra! I knew the instant I saw the tee that I must have it! ;)
Deleteyour son looks exactly like your husband (i just read your other post about your anniversary (happy anniversary!)) that photo of them on the field is precious!
