Weekend recap - tis the season edition!

It's crazy to think how close we are to Christmas!  We're still wearing shorts and t-shirts in Texas so it makes it hard to get in the spirit but we're definitely trying!  We had a wonderful extended weekend filled with family, friends, and lots of shopping! ;)  Here's a peek into the last few days!

Shelly hosted Thanksgiving for her family and ours.  The meal and fellowship were nothing short of perfection!  While I missed being with the rest of my family, it's nice knowing you always have a place that opens you with welcome arms.

Friday was a very laid back day.  The girls worked on their Christmas lists - one the old-fashioned way and the other created a PowerPoint presentation. :)

Our high school team was still in the playoffs and were playing at the Texans stadium.  Colby went to the game but sadly our Tigers came up short.

While waiting up for Colby, I joined millions of other women in binge watching Gilmore Girls!

Saturday the girls were up bright and early to make sure their Santa letters were in the mail!

We supported Small Business Saturday by stopping at our favorite dance store, Attitude Dance Boutique, to pick up a few things.  While we were there the girls made these adorable ballerina Christmas ornaments!

Later Saturday afternoon, Shelly and I got together for a fun event in downtown Bryan called Sip & Shop.

After church on Sunday, it was back to more shopping.  Shoes - it's the one thing Colby and Holden have in common! :)

Shelly to the rescue once again!!!  We met her in downtown Bryan for her to snap a few pics for our Christmas card.  Seriously don't know what I would do without her!

Afterward, we treated the kids to milkshakes and burgers for cooperating with pictures!

Later that evening, the girls and I kicked off the holiday season with a trip to see the "talking light house."  All of their lights are set to music and it's nothing short of awesome!  It just happens to be one street over from our house so we get to enjoy it many nights before bedtime.

How was your Thanksgiving?  Hoping it was full of thanks and giving!  Take a deep breath - Christmas is right around the corner!  Tis the season!

Gig 'em and God bless!

  4. Our soroptimist club put one of those on in October. Wine and Shop ....it was so much fun (although sadly I was starting to get a bladder infection- ick!) and didn't get to enjoy it as much as the other girls did! Almost done with shopping for presents and need to start wrapping!

    1. It really was fun - and the weather was perfect too! But, I really wish they would have stayed true to normal wines - some were, well, interesting to put it nicely! ;) I'm so jealous that you are almost done! eek! I've got a long way to go!

  6. You're in t-shirt and shorts weather. It was 24 degrees when I drove to work today here in Utah. We have a little bit of snow with more in the forecast for tomorrow. I'll think of you while I'm all bundled up against the cold! :-)
