Royally Waiting...{a NEW link-up!}

Well, hello there!  How have you been?!  I sure have missed this little space but life has been coming at us from every direction and I knew something had to give - sadly, it was my little corner of the blog-osphere. #insertsadface But, after a few weeks of adjustment of going back to work, Mike wrapping up his daily commute, moving out of our home for a re-model, and moving into a patio home for the time being...  I think I can finally give some much needed attention to my blog and I couldn't be more excited!

Well, actually I CAN be more excited because today Katy, Shelly, and I are launching a new link-up called Royally Waiting... and we would LOVE for you to join us!  It will be a weekly link-up where you can share a little peek into your week.  We'll give you a few prompts in case you can't think of anything to share but feel free to think outside the box!  Think What's Up Wednesday meets a weekly version of Currently.  We can't wait to share what's going on with us but we really look forward to seeing what's going on in your world!  Be sure and link up with us below!!!

Royally Waiting...a weekly link-up

* waiting on...  Seems like I'm always waiting on something!  Whether it be waiting on Hope to finish tying her shoes, waiting on 5:00 so that I can head home and join up with my little fam, or waiting on a remodel that I've waited ten, yes 10, years for, I'm always waiting on something.  But, some things are worth waiting for and this remodel is the stuff dreams are made of!  I'll share a more detailed post soon but let me show you a quick before/after of a cabinet demo:
kitchen remodel - BEFORE
before...

kitchen remodel - AFTER
and after... the only difference between these two pictures are the removal of the box light (all the praise hands!) and the upper cabinets in the kitchen.  Can you believe how much of a difference removing those two things made?!  So, yes, I'm definitely waiting on this remodel to finish up but I'm savoring every little change - cause it was a long time coming!!!

* planning - Last year, Shelly and I started a new birthday tradition for our girls. We've forgone birthday parties for birthday road trips and it might be one of the best things we've ever done!  For Holden's 11th birthday, she chose a weekend in Fort Worth, and then later we celebrated Carly's 11th birthday with a trip to San Antonio.  Holden's birthday is in March and I'm busy planning a special trip - you can guarantee a trip to an art museum and a zoo will be on the list, per the birthday girl! ;)

* going - Hope is on a dance team and this weekend she'll attend her second dance convention in Houston.  Be sure and come back tomorrow where I share a few Confessions of a Dance Mom. :)  Going to dance conventions/competitions is not for the faint of heart!

* cooking/eating - Since we've temporarily moved, locating anything - especially cookware - is hard!  We brought over some pots and pans but, so far, nothing that we've needed!  With that being said, we've been eating out - a LOT!  And, I realized how much we had been eating out when Hope presented me with her "menu":
Translation:  For lunch we are having Whataburger or Subway or for dinner we are having Chuy's.

Needless to say, this was my wake-up call to make sure we were giving more of an effort toward cooking/eating at home!!!

* hearting - I am absolutely hearting being back!  I've missed this little space so much and have so much I want to share!  I'm so glad you are here and can't wait to re-connect!

But, before you go, don't forget to link up with us!  We can't wait to see what you're up to!

  3. What new job do you have? I bet you'll be terrific at it what ever it is!

    We are at opposite ends of the job thing. You're re-entering the job arena and I am looking at retiring at the end of the summer. I can't wait to be a full-time grandma!

    Your car trips for birthdays sounds like a great idea! I'll have to keep that in mind for the grands!

    1. Thank you so much! It feels good to be back! You are so sweet to remember my dad and Garrett! My dad is doing better and Garrett's knee is doing great - except he just had shoulder surgery! Poor kid! He's been a tad accident prone this year! Thank you so much for checking on them!
