* WISHING - Her birthday was yesterday but I wanted to give her a special shout out today! It's only been a couple of years since I met Katy but her friendship is one that makes you feel like you've been friends forever. She is an amazing wife, mother, and friend and I hope that she had a day as fabulous as she is! WISHING you a very Happy Birthday, sweet Katy!
* THANKFUL - I'm super THANKFUL for answered prayers - even more so when our kids get to see one of their prayers answered! Sunday morning while driving to church, we saw a chocolate lab on the side of a four-lane highway. She was headed straight for the traffic and we knew we had to do something. We pulled over and Mike and I jumped out of the car. I held up traffic on the feeder road and Mike started calling the dog. She immediately came to us but as soon as she got close enough for us to grab her, she ran away. We followed her and were able to run her back into a neighborhood and away from the traffic. She wasn't completely safe but she was safer than she was near the highway. Even though we were late, we went to church anyway, but as soon as the service was over, we went back to the neighborhood to see if we could find her. No.such.luck. :( We were hopeful that she had found her way home.
Monday morning, Mike sends me this picture:
This was the dog we had seen the day before! He called the owner to let him know we had seen her but sadly, she hadn't come home yet. We told the kids the dog was still missing and to remember her in their prayers. Sweet Hope prayed for her right then and there and then yesterday morning as we prayed before school, Hope prayed for Jade to "please find her way home." And, ya'll! Later that afternoon we found out Jade had, indeed, made her way home! It was so fun to tell Hope that her prayer had been answered. She was super THANKFUL that God heard her! And, I was super THANKFUL that the kids were able to see that prayer really does work!
* PRAYING - PRAYING for all the McKinney girls (Andrea, Narci, Sheaffer, Shay & Erika). This past weekend they lost their dear friend, Manda, after a long battle with cancer. The bond between this group of friends is refreshing and inspiring. I know they are in a valley of sadness right now but I know they will join together and honor Manda's memory in a way that only they can.
* LOVING - As I mentioned in my Friday Favorites post last week, I love words. It's probably one of the main reasons I love Farmgirl Paints so much! Well, that and the fact that each bracelet is unique! This past week I received a new cuff and I am LOVING it!!!
* SHARING - Speaking of Friday Favorites, I SHARED some of my favorite Kate Spade finds from Bed Bath & Beyond!
* ANXIOUS - We are three and a half weeks into our remodel and things are getting exciting! I'm so ANXIOUS to see the finished product!!!
* EXCITED - Ya'll! I was driving home from Houston this past weekend and I literally squealed with EXCITEMENT when I saw a glimpse of the first bluebonnets of the Spring. I know, I know - it's not "spring" yet but usually when you see bluebonnets blooming, you know it's soon!!!
I know this picture is terrible but you will have to trust me! That little blob of blue is, indeed, bluebonnets. I've started to see them on the roadsides around town too!
* ADORING - Sisters are so much fun - well, most of the time! ;) These two either think the other one hung the moon or should move to the moon. So, when I see them ADORING each other, it makes my mama heart swell!
* TRANSITIONING - Since we have three kiddos at three very different stages of life, I find that TRANSITION from one kid to the next can be somewhat drastic. Take yesterday for instance... I was surrounded by a bunch of cute kiddos while I helped with Kindergarten lunch duty at Hope's school...
and then just a few hours later, we were in the stands watching a high school soccer game.
Meanwhile, the middlest was at dance. These three keep us on our toes!
* WAITING ON... - It wouldn't be a Royally Waiting post without filling you in on what I'm WAITING ON! :) . In a couple of weeks, our kiddos have Spring Break. My mom has graciously agreed to come pick up the kids so that they can spend a few days with her and my dad up at "The Hill." As soon as we got the kids all squared away, Mike and I made plans to go on a quick little weekend getaway to the Texas Hill Country! I CAN'T WAIT!!!

I love so much about your post today! I too love it when our Littles can see their prayers answered. The stronger we can embed their faith at such a young age, I feel like the better off they are.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Kristy! We've had quite a few conversations about God answering prayers (and sometimes not answering prayers) - and all because of a dog!
DeleteLoving your new cuff so darling :) Prayers for all the sweet girls that lost their friend. Cancer is awful
ReplyDeleteChelsea @ http://thewilliamsjourney1.blogspot.com/
Thanks, Chelsea! I've worn it almost daily!!!

DeleteOk...obviously I'm missing out on way too much! Love the story about the dog...so sweet. That new cuff is amazing!
ReplyDeleteI'm obviously missing YOU!!! Why does the Spring semester have to be so rough on our friendship?! I need to see you stat!!!
DeleteI love your cuff! I want ANOTHER one....darn you for getting my hooked on her! LOL...trying to decide what I want to put on mine. I have had a great start to my new year - new me ....maybe that should be my motto! My word for this year is Transformation. Because that is what I am going thru! So maybe that should be it!
ReplyDeleteOne can never have too many cuffs - maybe we should get THAT put on a cuff! :) You'll have to let me know when you order your next one!
DeleteHope your remodel continues to go smooth. Thanks for hosting and have a wonderful week.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I appreciate your sweet thoughts and for stopping by! Hope you are having a fantastic weekend!
DeleteWayne and I are looking forward to our get away this month, too! Hope the remodeling goes well! Can't wait to see!
ReplyDeleteWhere are you guys headed? I have always said it doesn't matter where we go - as long as we're together. Cheese-y - yes, but oh, so true!
DeleteI can see those bluebonnets! What a wonderful sign that spring is on it's way. I can tell that spring is on its way at my house because all of the snow has melted off my driveway. There's still tons on the grass but at least I can see my driveway!!
ReplyDeleteEvery day there are more and more flowers!!! Hopefully every day there is less and less snow for you! ;)
DeleteHappy birthday, Katy.
ReplyDeleteSo relieved to know that Jade found her way home. :)
Have a wonderful week!
