Royally Waiting {link-up #7!}

Royally Waiting... a weekly peek into your week link-up

Welcome back to Royally Waiting!  A place where you can share a glimpse into what's going on in your world!  KatyShelly and I are so glad you are here and hope you'll link up with us!  I seriously can't believe this is week 7 of our new link-up!  We hope you've found this a fun way to share what's going on in your world.  Here's a quick peek into my week...

READING - Balancing a new job, temporary housing, and all the kiddos activities is no joke!  Since I feel like we are running in survival mode, carving out time for myself hasn't even made the list.  So, when I saw this book, I knew that I needed to dig in!

I knew when the tagline for The Fringe Hours was "for the woman who is doing everything for everyone - except herself" that I needed to grab it and dig in!

Granted, I'm still trying to find time to READ but I'm committed to getting better about scheduling time for me!  (oh, and did I mention this book is on sale for $1.99 on Amazon right now?!).  If you've read it - send me your thoughts!  I could definitely use some tips, hints, suggestions - anything - on carving out a little time to re-charge!

DATING - I might not be good at carving out time for myself but since going back to work, Mike and I have done a really good job of DATING!  We have scheduled every other Wednesday as Date Night - complete with adding it to our calendar weeks out and arranging a sitter.  This past week Mike found tickets to a Market that was going on - it was a complete bust but we laughed it off - and then headed straight to dinner!  It's so much fun to just have some face time without any interruptions!

CARPOOLING - Mike picked me up from work for our date night and then we headed out for the Market and then on to dinner.  Afterward, we headed home - completely forgetting to go back and get my car!  We didn't even realize it until we opened the garage door!  For a brief moment, we thought about driving back into town but quickly decided to just leave my car there until the next day.  So, the following morning, our family of five CARPOOLed to school and work!

It was fun having everyone in the car together - except that it took Mike 55 minutes to get us all where we needed to be!

WATCHING - Oh, Aggie Football, how I love you so!!!  Currently we are wrapping up Spring Practice and last Friday we hosted Friday Night Lights - a scrimmage complete with a DJ and fireworks!  The weather was perfect for WATCHING a little football!  I love summer but this gets me really excited for the fall!!!

Holden shocked us all when she said she wanted to go have her picture made with Trevor Knight (she usually doesn't like anything that draws attention her way).  So, Mike took her to the sidelines and snapped this precious picture!  Definitely, will be adding this to my office space!  Too cute!

DANCING - We were on the road to a dance competition by 8:30 am Saturday morning and didn't get home till 1:45 am later that day.  It was a long day but definitely worth it!  All three of our kid's dance but only Colby and Hope compete (see reference above about Holden not wanting to draw attention to herself).  Out of all three of the kids, Hope loves to DANCE the most.  You can tell when she's on stage that she's having the time of her life!  DANCING is definitely her favorite!

 Hope's favorite new pose!

We were missing a couple of team members but I just love this pic!  Hope is the only Kindergartener in the group but all these "big girls" have taken her in and made her feel like one of them!  They love and encourage her to love dance - even more than she already did!  I love this team!

Somewhere in this sea of dancers is Hope-y!!!  Their team brought home another 1st and 3rd place finish in their age group!  Super proud of them!!!

I snapped this cute pic of Colby and his partner, Shay, at 9:45 pm on Saturday night.  They were waiting in the wings to dance!

Y'all, their group blew the crowd away!  They did a-MAY-zing!!!  Not only did they capture 1st place in their age group but they also won GRAND CHAMPIONS!  We are so proud of them!

Then, on Sunday evening, we found out our studio won the entire competition!!!  It was definitely a fun weekend filled with lots of DANCING!

* VISITING - Since Hope danced around lunch and Colby wasn't scheduled to dance till after 10:30 pm, we decided to VISIT Austin and do a few things.  Since Holden was being a complete trooper I quickly searched street art hoping we could find something that she would love - and, boy, did we ever!!!

We found the Hope Outdoor Gallery - the only paint park of its kind in the USA!  You can come here to admire or test your hand at graffiti!  It was really cool and Holden already wants to go back!

I was so proud of this girl!  Sitting through an all day dance competition when you aren't dancing can make for a very, very long day.  But, not one single time did she complain! #sisteroftheyear

We couldn't resist stopping here!

ENCOURAGING - We recently let Holden get an Instagram account.  And, I'm sure I won't be the first to tell you but, managing social media with tweens and teens is no joke!  We have conversation after conversation about what to post and what not to post.  So, my mom heart soared with pride when I saw this ENCOURAGING post!

BAKING - These two had so much fun BAKING at Shelly's house on Sunday afternoon!  But, these girls have fun regardless of what they do - they are constantly reminding me that I take myself way too seriously! :)

WAITING ON... - We are getting SO close to moving back into our house!  Here's a little sneak peak of our kitchen!!!  I can't WAIT to have everything finished up and move back in!!!  Maybe next weekend...

What are you WAITING ON?

Don't forget to link up with us before you go!  We look forward to you sharing what's going on in your world!
