Royally Catching Up!!!

Royally Waiting... a weekly peek into your week link-up

Looks like I took a little unintentional blog break!  :)  Life got a little crazy - especially with traveling 6 out of the last 6 weekends - but...

I'm super excited to join up with my girlfriends, Katy and Shelly and we are so glad you are here and hope you'll link up with us below!  This link party is a fun way for us to see what you guys are up to and a way for us to share a glimpse of what's going on in our lives!  Since it's been a while since I posted, I thought I would royally catch you guys up on what we've been up to...  Hang on - this one might be a bit long!  :)

UPDATING - Still slowly but surely getting the house like we want it.  Adding the bookshelves in the living room was something I had wanted for so long but styling them is not my gift!  Thankful we have a fabulous, amazing sitter that came to my rescue!  I'm still looking for things to add so if you have any ideas...share away!  Still lots of spaces to fill!!!

CELEBRATING - I'm a GREAT Aunt!!!  My niece, Christian, gave birth to the sweetest baby girl on July 11th.  She weighed in an ounce shy of NINE pounds and they named her Elliott Anne.  She's perfection and I only wish we lived closer so I could get my baby fix on a daily basis!

LAUNCHING - Y'all, I was SO geeked out excited when I received the email that I was on Melanie Shankle's book launch team for Church of the Small Things!!!  I'm slowly devouring her book because 1) it's amazing and 2) I don't want it to end!!!  You will definitely want to add this book to your fall reading list (but you can pre-order it now)!!!

And another geek out moment when Melanie replied to my tweet!

VOLUNTEERING - Colby and I have spent some time volunteering at our local food bank.  If I've done only one thing right as a mama, this is it!  The kids love to volunteer and the time we get to spend together is priceless (even if I can't get him to take a decent picture with me!). In a few short years, our kids will be the leaders in their own communities and I hope their foundation in giving back will make them want to do even more.  I truly hope this is something they look back on and want to pass along to their own children!

DANCING - Dancing, dancing, and more dancing!  Hope has danced over 50 hours of class so far this summer and still has a few more weeks before the fall schedule starts.  Needless to say, with all this dancing, she was due for some new ballet shoes!

* THANKING - Hope could have never made it to all those dance classes if we didn't have someone helping us to get her to and from class.  Holden would have never made her art classes or math tutoring classes and Colby would have never made it to boot camp or driver's ed without the help of our awesome sitter.  We are unbelievably blessed to have Cheyenne (or "Chin-yay" as Colby affectionately calls her) helping us and loving our kiddos on a nearly daily basis! She's leaving Friday for a ten-day vacation and I'm already counting the days till she gets home!  We are so thankful for her help!!!

AUDITIONING - Colby and Shay tried out again for Lil' Wranglers and this year they moved up a team!  I love watching them dance and can't wait to see them on the Elite team!

PREPARING - Each year at camp the kids have theme nights.  And, even though I ALWAYS wait until the last minute, getting these costumes together is seriously one of my favorite things!  Check out Holden's lion costume for Circus night!

CAMPING - Speaking of camp... the bigs spend a week at TBarM each summer - Holden in New Braunfels for Sports Camp and Colby at Lake Travis. They spend an entire week being FUAGNEM - Fired Up And Going Nuts Every Minute!  It's a week where they can unplug and just be kids.  The coaches are amazing and spend a week pouring the love of God into them.  It's seriously the best week of their summer!!!

Next year all three kiddos will be going to camp!!!

The girls also spent a week at Bengal Belle camp.  Four days of nothing but hanging out with the local drill team, learning lots of fun dances, making fun crafts, and hanging out with friends.  Hope's idea of heaven!  ;)

CELEBRATING - Mike and I celebrated 20 years of marriage on August 2nd!!!  We spent a couple of days in San Antonio after we dropped off the bigs at camp and then spent a very normal day on our actual anniversary - complete with not getting home till 8:30 pm, take out because the wait at the restaurant was an hour, blardigan on, hair pulled up, and piles of laundry that needed to be put away.  But, I couldn't imagine anyone else I would rather do life with (plus he gave me three pretty awesome kiddos!)

PREPARING - If you do something more than once in Aggieland, it's considered a tradition and last year, right before school started, we went to the beach with Shelly and her family.  With school just around the corner, we thought we would get our minds right and prepare by going on another family road trip!  This year we went to Frisco to hang out and we also got to watch Riley pitch (and get his first double A save!)!  You can read Shelly's recap here.

Family isn't always blood.  It's the people in your life who want you in theirs.  The ones who accept you for who you are.  The ones who would do anything to see you smile, and who love you no matter what.  Another weekend to remember with the McJanacs and I'm already looking forward to our next road trip!

WAITING ON... - The weekend!  Since we have been gone for the last six weekends, I can't wait to spend a weekend at home.  Goodness knows the To Do list has grown, and grown, and GROWN!!!

What are you WAITING ON?

Don't forget to link up with us before you go!  We look forward to you sharing what's going on in your world!

  5. I'm so happy that you had something to share on your blog with us! You know I'm an avid reader! LOL as for me, I'm just waiting until I can get back to my normal 5 mile plus walking days and I'm ready for a little bit cooler weather here in sunny California! Taylor and I are taking off to my happy place tomorrow, and you know that is my Beach House! So I'm looking forward to spending a little one on one time with her and also going out to a fun dinner on Friday night with my oldest daughter. Daughter time definitely rocks!
