Friday Favorites!

While I'm Waiting...Friday Favorites!

Hello, Friday!  I've been looking forward to seeing you all week!  Phew - it's been a doozy of a week!  Just the typical family schedule but it did have me feeling a little frazzled this week.  On Tuesday, it was after 9pm when I finally pulled into our driveway.  What.a.day!  But, on Wednesday, I was going through pictures and came across a few of the kids doing what they love.  Perfect timing and a great reminder!  Definitely made me look back and realize they really are happiest when they are where they feel they belong.  So, in other words, it was just the internal pep talk I needed to get me through a long week!

Seeing our kiddos happy definitely is a FAVORITE!

#12 on the field, #1 in my heart! ;) (and special thanks to a team mom who takes all these awesome pics!

Art is definitely her love language!

Although all three kiddos take dance, dance is truly where I see Hope the happiest.  She's surrounded by a team with the same passion and joy and, bless her little heart, she can't hear a beat without moving to it!

She also had her first soccer game of the season this past Saturday.  She moved up a league and the field seems twice as big but she showed determination and grit and even scored a goal!

Mike was out of town for her game so we snapped this pic to send to him after the game.  Hot, sweaty, and super pumped to have gotten a goal!

Know what else is my FAVORITE?!  Kids using their gifts for others and Katy's kiddos definitely are good at that!  Be sure you check out her post on Being Brave.

It's hard to believe but one of my FAVORITE movies was released 15 years ago this week!!!

Be sure and check out Reese Witherspoon's precious interview where she talks about filming and shares her FAVORITE line of the movie!  Here are a few of my FAVS:
"Why would you wanna marry me, anyhow?"
"So I can kiss you anytime I want."

"The truth is I gave my heart away a long time ago, my whole heart, and I never really got it back."

and my all time FAVORITE line:

"I never fully understood that expression, but no, I am not "shitting" you."

This past weekend since Mike was in Dallas for the Arkansas game,  he picked up and brought home the dining table we ordered this past summer and we were able to get that area one step closer to finished.  Completing projects is a FAVORITE for me!!!  Here's a sneak peek!

While I'm Waiting...Friday Favorites!

This space was tough for me because other than eating (duh!) we really had to focus on the functionality of the space because this is the main door that Maggie and the kiddos go in and out.  I was leaning towards a small table to go underneath the mirror but everything I was drawn to seemed too big for the space.  Then I came across this bar cart from World Market and knew I had my winner!  (I'm not sure why but the price has increased over $60 since I bought it so keep an eye out for sales!) . Next week I'm going to share a post on bar cart essentials - cause I need all the help I can get!

And, speaking of sales, my most FAVORITE way to shop is to find something really inexpensive that looks expensive!  Take for instance these fabulous buffalo check plates from Pottery Barn.  I knew immediately that I loved them but no way would I or could I pay that much for a few novelty plates.

Pottery Barn - 4 plates for $48

I did a quick google search and found 6 plates for $29.99 at TJ Maxx!!!  They aren't exact but they are close enough and much more affordable!  Now, here's my predicament...  I bought twelve plates - do I need that many?!  (Please say yes!) :)

The High/Low section in the HGTV Magazine is always one of my FAVORITE articles.  Find what you like - regardless of the price - then spend some time search for a similar item for a fraction of the cost!  It's like a game and I love winning!

I hope you had a fabulous week and are looking forward to a fun weekend.   We've got high school football tonight, a soccer game in the morning, and then Fightin' Texas Aggie Football versus South Carolina tomorrow night.  I can't wait!!!

Thanks for stopping by - share one of your FAVORITE moments from your week in the comments below!

  4. Those are super pictures of Colby! I have been loving all of Reese's posts on IG about the 15 year anniversary but had not seen the interview....gotta check that out. I remember leaving Dillon for one of the first times to go on a girls night to watch this movie. And those plates...love! So cute.
