What a GREAT weekend!

On Thursday evening, Mike and I were in the stands at Colby's football game. We knew my parents were coming but we were in for the best surprise!!!  My niece, Christian, and her sweet baby, Elliott, were surprising us with a visit!  I saw them walking up and I was in complete disbelief.  Elliott is 2 months old but the last time we saw her she was only 5 days old.  That's a long time for anyone but especially for a baby who changes so quickly!

Tears filled my eyes and I quickly went and scooped her up!

I spent the rest of the game staring at her and trying to focus on Colby too!  Not an easy task but I'm happy to say that Colby's team recorded their first win of the season!  Little Miss must have brought some good luck with her too!

After the game, we were able to snap a few pictures with Colby in his uniform.  I wanted him to hold Elliott but he was adamant that he didn't want her to smell all sweaty!

Much like his dad, Colby loves babies.  He couldn't wait to clean up and get his hands on her!

After the game, we went to dinner and then I reluctantly hugged and kissed Christian and Elliott and let them head to my parent's house for a good night's sleep.  I was already missing them!!!

On Friday Mike and I both had to work but we met for lunch and convinced my mom and Christian to bring Elliott by for a few hugs and kisses.  Oh, how my man loves babies - and oh, how I love him!

My mom picked up Hope from school on Friday and she immediately went home for some baby snuggles!!!

Mike and I had made plans to go out with friends Friday evening but that didn't stop the girls from getting all kinds of time with Elliott!  I see three separate hands all touching her in this pic!

My mom sent me this picture and I couldn't help but giggle.  Hope was watching Christian bathe Elliott from inside the shower!

We went to the Aggie game on Saturday while Christian and Elliott hung out at my parent's house.  As soon as Hope got home, she was immediately snuggling with Elliott again!

And as soon as Elliott was awake, I convinced Christian to bring her to me and let me "babysit" for a couple of hours!  It was SO much fun playing and loving on her!!!  I was in heaven!

And then she fell back asleep - there is nothing better than snuggling a sleeping baby!

It was so much fun having Elliott spend a few hours with us.  Crazy how much easier it is when they don't belong to you.  I never once fretted about the need to clean, do laundry, or anything else for that matter - I just soaked her up the whole time!!!  When you are in the midst of raising a baby, it seems like it will never end.  But, then you have teenagers and you look back and realize how fast it all went!

On Sunday we met for lunch and Miss Elliott slept the entire time.  We couldn't help but laugh at the difference in size between Colby's hand and Elliott's hand!

And this was the moment I really wished that Mike and I had started having kids earlier so that we could have had more!

The kids absolutely LOVED having Christian and Elliott in town!  They were constantly looking, touching, playing, and talking to her.  They took "if you wake her, you take her" to heart - they were desperately wanting her to wake up so that they could hold her!

Goodbyes are so hard!  I can't thank Christian enough for surprising us with the GREATest visit ever!  We are already looking forward to seeing them again.  It can't come soon enough!

I hope your weekend and week has been filled with GREAT things!

COMING SOON - Mike and I re-furbished Christian's plastic Little Tykes car from her childhood to give to Elliott.  You won't believe the transformation!  Keep checking back - post coming soon!

  1. What a beautiful baby! I want to kiss those cheeks.
